Everything that you want to know about using dental insurance in our office:

We are not an insurance driven practice, and the reason for this is important. We are a relationship-based practice. In collaboration with parents and caregivers, the recommendations that we make are based solely on your child’s needs and without the restrictions and limitations imposed by insurance. We will work with you to help maximize your insurance benefits. If your plan is a PPO plan (meaning that you can select a provider outside of your plan network), you can use your insurance plan at Smile Gallery. HMO plans generally do not allow their members to select us as a non-contracted provider. To be “in-network”, would require that we agree to accept deeply discounted rates for the highest quality patient care, technology, and services.

For all PPO plans that will assign payments to us as your provider, it is our policy to collect the estimated patient portion at the time of the appointment. We are happy to submit claims on your behalf. If there is an outstanding balance or credit on your account after the claim has been paid by your insurance plan, we will notify you. You are responsible for any outstanding balance on your account after insurance pays your claim. Any credits on your account after your insurance pays a claim, we will refund back to you.

For the few PPO plans that will not assign payments to us as your provider (there are not many of these), it’s our policy to collect payment in full at the time of the procedure or set up a convenient payment plan. We will submit claims on your behalf, including any supporting documentation requested by your insurance. Your plan will reimburse you directly in the amount that they allow.
