Exams & Cleanings
A gentle cleaning and a full look at how your child's teeth, bite, and gums are developing.
A cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, plus a full check of how the teeth, gums, and bite are developing. Dr. Dan Truong also looks at breathing, tongue movement, and how the jaws are growing.
Your child gets a gentle polish and, where useful, fluoride. Then comes the exam, tooth by tooth, along with a look at the airway and bite. You hear what was found before you leave.
Most problems are simpler, cheaper, and less frightening to fix while they are still small. Regular visits also give your child a version of the dentist that is boring rather than scary.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about exams & cleanings.

That is normal, especially for toddlers and for children who had a bad experience elsewhere. We work at your child's pace and never force a first visit.
Yes. Baby teeth hold space for the adult teeth behind them and can decay quickly, so they get the same attention as permanent teeth.
Plan on about an hour for a first visit, and less once your child knows the routine. Being fee for service means nobody is rushing you out.
Always, in plain language, with photos or X-rays up on the screen wherever seeing it helps more than hearing about it.
